March On Saver

The first quarter of 2019 has been illuminating, to say the least.  Mentally, things are going really well for me.  Financially, though, things could be better.  Our thrifty efforts have been producing excellent results, but things were too far gone to turn them around with savings alone.  We have been trying to sell our home so we can move somewhere less expensive, but we haven’t gotten any offers yet.  We’ve lowered the price and never turn down a showing, but the market has slowed significantly.  Now we have been informed that there are issues with our building and there will be an assessment of $35-$55K.

This is where we circle back to the mental health comment and discover its significance.  I suffer from depression and anxiety and the last three years have been a roller coaster of self discovery and rebuilding.  I feel so thankful that I got help and started the road to recovery so that when extremely upsetting things such as this happen I am able to hang in there and even continue to thrive.  Life is unpredictable and sometimes things don’t go your way, but if you’re lucky you have the support system and the tools to weather the storm.

I’m excited to move into our new apartment and start fresh whether we sell or are forced to go through a short sale, it will all be ok.  I have my amazing husband and best friend to go through life with and that’s amazing.  Time to stop feeling sorry for myself and go back to achieving my goals.

Do your thrifty best!

Lisa
